As the working year draws to a close, the Executive Committee and Staff of Age Concern Otago would like to take the opportunity to thank you, our volunteers, colleagues, friends, collaborators and like-minded associates for your support during the year,
With your help we are able to realise our mission of working together to promote the wellbeing of Otago's older people. We'd like to share with you some of the significant achievements your efforts have made possible during this last year:
- Direct assistance given to 727 clients by our Supportive Services staff
7,800 weekly Volunteer visits to 150 Accredited Visitor Service clients
138 Elder Abuse and Neglect Prevention client referrals addressed
900 participants in Falls Prevention exercise classes throughout Otago
193 Octagon Club members supported to enjoy club facilities and activities
45,000 Meals on Wheels delivered by 700 trained Volunteers
Senior Chef cooking classes delivered to 150 participants
5 major social and recreational events organised
200 mature drivers attended 'Staying Safe' driving workshops
Our informative monthly magazine 'Community in Action' delivered to 3000 subscribers including 72 Senior's Clubs
680 Total Mobility clients supported with 800 subsidised trip vouchers
