This role would suit someone who values the positive contributions made by older people and who values, respects and appreciates the important role older people play in every aspect of life.
From our Alexandra office you will work in the community to deliver ongoing social services and a range of health promotion programmes. You'll engage with health, social services and community groups to improve awareness and actively promote wellbeing, respect and dignity for older people.
The role is full time but it could accommodate two part time workers to cover a diverse range of tasks including providing information and social work interventions to those accessing Age Concern services as well as facilitating health promotion activities and running courses. The support and development of Age Concern’s volunteers is also essential. A vehicle is provided.
Applicants are expected to have;
· A qualification and experience in a relevant field such as social work, health promotion, community development, education, nursing
· A demonstrated ability to work well with other services such as DHB’s, PHO’s and the wider community and social sector
· Highly developed written and oral communication skills and computer literacy
· Experience in the Not For Profit environment would be of benefit
· A full driver’s licence
